also i have fitted a window before. although it was a rear and your able to pull the divider out from the little quarter glass too. you will need to pull most of the door apart and slide it in. be careful not to scratch it. or ring someone (as i prob would) it shouldn't be much and at least you know it will be done properly... (no offense to your ability to put in a window)

To fit a front door window is easy, ive done heaps of them
easyest way i found to do them, is pull the door trim off, lower the window so its in the down position, have the elctric swtich hooked up so u can rasie it whille u r installing, then pull the window rubber out on one side, turn the glass side ways and insert from the outside, slowly insert into the door and turn to the right position as u insert, putting the glass into the runners, hold the glass in the best position to bolt it onto the mecanisem (bad spelling) then rasie the mecanisem to the glass where u can put the bolt in the easyest and tighten up.
then lower the window, lube up the window rubber with silicon spray and feed back into the runner, if it doesnt want to go down all the way then rasie the window half way, and lower it again while feeding the rubber in more.
hope this makes sense.

considering you're running an extra 6psi if you're running 15psi, it should be more than a tiny bit faster, should it not?

When I still had the 1G I fitted a boost controller that was faulty and it was over boosting to 22psi on the stock turbos. The turbos can take it as the 1G CT12's are steel wheeled, just watch out for pinging that you can't hear, and you probably be having fuel supply issues at that level if you've still got the factory fuel pump and injectors.

yeah, cause taking this out i had to be careful not to break anything!!
its the side intrusion bars that have been put into the door for compliance that make it such a mega pain in the arse to install the window. if they werent there, not only would the car be about 2.5kg lighter per door if not more, but the window would be a piece of piss to take out or put in

I've heard people say the stock turbos are out of their efficiency range at around 18psi, so there's probably not much benefit to be had with the stock turbos boosting up to 20psi.
good to see you hooked up your boost controller though you'll have to show me what line to plumb it into

turning up the boost should be the one of the last things you do im my opinion, equip the engine with all the accessories to run the boost comfortably and whether it be you cooler for plenty plenty of cooling efficiency or an FMIC, metal headgasket etc. They're were brought out from factory running low boost for a reason so set them up right if you wanna boost up and don't cut corners, better in the long run.

this is true, but you're less likely to have HG woes from a 1GGTE than a 7MGTE with a bit of extra boost

Noob question deluxe
where is the IACV, and what should I use to clean it?
Just noticed someone mentioning low idle and i think it was norbie who said it could be because of a gunked up IACV, well mine is idling a lil low so I thought I'd give it a clean out.
Anything else I can pull off and give a good clean out that might need it while I'm at it?

I think the Z2 soarers are the best compromise between 80's japanese styling and modern styling, with that older shape but rounded, more elegant edges and extra features...
That, and the fact that Z1 soarers are not nearly as common at all, is why I chose the Z2 soarer...

This is true...
which is why if I got a Z21 I would pimp it our rather than have it performance oriented.
Yeah ill be out thursday, we meet at autopro carpark now instead of the bridge, because of other people turning up and attracting the wrong sort of attention, and then US getting busted
check out the forum and there's a thursday night cruising thread, with more info in there
also, next time there's a general meeting + free BBQ, come out!!

Well in my car hunting I found it was much easier to find Z20's rather than Z10's...
besides, I like the shape of the Z1, but as I previously said, the shape of the Z2 appeals to me more...
Although the light weight of the Z1 is a strong point in its favour

Yes, i agree the shape of the z2 is nice.
z1's look pretty horrible unless they have been improved a decent ammount
hence why mine has had stuff done to it asthetically
I used to like the shape of z2's a heap more but now i prefer my soarer to any z2 ive seen(biast ofcourse)
but, id give it all up for a ferrari dino.. and just am thinking about doing such a thing

aren't you going to manual convert yours first?
I'm restraining myself from starting multiple things at once too
I had something suggested to me today which was rather different, and had me thinking...
There are many 1JZ conversions...
But what about a 3S-GTE, worked off its nut (within reason)
How would that handle the weight of the soarer?
Where can I get some specs on the 3S-GTE in its stock form?

it would be awesome but big dollars, as you would most probably need to go for something like a big turbo and aftermarket management to match the stock 1JZ but you would have awesome weight distribution with the option of a V mount cooler and radiator setup as the motor would sit back fairly far
but no RWD 3S conversion is cheap or easy

That's what I was thinking...
and you'd be paving new ground (as far as i know? I know top secret did a JZA80 with a 3SGTE but yeah, dont know of any soarers) which isnt neccessarily a good thing, but i guess someone's gotta do it, hey!
Would be such a nice car to drive though with the engine so far back... I immediately thought of that too
Just considering my future prospects, I'm still going to go W58 manual on my 1G regardless, but depending what happens in the future, say IF (just if) i go 1JZ, then i can sell all my 1J manual conv. stuff as a kit and make someone else with an auto GZ20 a happy chappy later on
either that or try and use the W58 on the 1JZ...

see now if they can do that from a 3S, what's stopping me from getting that much power out of my 1G :'(
How torquey are those 3SGTE's ?
Would I suffer from the same low-torque issue the 1G's have?
Obviously when manual it's going to be a bit better, but yeah

Well i'd start by moving to Japan, get your own racing team organised, with sponsorship of course because the engine in your car will probably be worth over $100,000 by this stage
