3TGTE balance shaft? i was looking at the block and the shaft in the side only goes in half way is it a balance shaft or just a dummy shaft?

also where is the oil pump located? is it inside the oil pickup on some of them ill probly just pull it apart and have a look today anyway thanks.

its a dummy shaft for the twin cams, only goes halfway.
the oil pump has a pickup off it, all inside the sump.

yeah right i had a closer look yeah doesnt do anything other than drive the oil pump, interesting, also i saw the holes obviously from where the 3TC cam goes on the old engines and to keep good oil poressure they have stuck pipes between the bearing oil holes i didnt know these motors were so interesting. its like they had some 3TC's lying around and they went hey bob lets put a twin cam head on it ok, hmmm its missing something ahh i know a turbo, and just wack one on.
