why go for a puss ra40 or ta22 diff? They break very easily with decent power/ torque. They are a "T" series (6.7")Look for something out of a coronamk2, or an old crown. These have a much larger crownwheel and are far tougher. they are an F series (7.5") Good lsds available for them too.
more to the point, depends what its going into, and what kind of motor will be providing it with its power.

its got to be one eithar ra40/ ta22 as iv already bought the ae86 lsd centre, plus weight has got to be keft low as its goin into a ford escort. trenght is not a big issue as it will have only about 180bhp.
can anyone supply eithar ra 40 or ra 22?.i need dimensions as i have stated in my opening thread so please read that first.

biggest question is how wide is your diff?? TA22,RA23,RA28 T series are narrower than RA40/60 T series, not sure about T18. Just threw out a pair of RA40 axles and a TA22 D series diff, so that reduces your luck a bit. Find out the width you desire, and then post that, someone is bound to know the widths of the RA40/60 compared with the XA-2X series celicas
Cheers, Owen

I have a TA22 diff if you still need one. On the northside of Brisbane but you have to remove it!

I can convert a standard Escort "English" axle to LSD for $390 inc shortening your axles. You give me your centre and axles and I send it back converted. These work really well and go straight back in no messing about with axle tubes and spring brackets. Ring me on 0409 091 252 cheers John

RA28 Drum to Drum is apparently 1377MM.

i would imagine ra23 to be near the same.

Hello mate, I'm from Ireland as well, Dublin but i'm living in Canberra at the moment. I've got a RA40 diff in the back yeard but I'm really far away from Brizzy mate. Their pretty weak anyway.
