hey guys,
my mate has blown his 3sgte in his 91 celica gt4. hes been offered a 3sgte out of a mr2 for a decent price. i was just wondering on his behalf what the techniqalities of it are?
- how hard is it to do?
- does everything line up?
im only chasing facts.. not opinions and any help is appreciated!

what i mean by facts is people that are %100 sure of what they are saying. or people that have done it before. do you know where i can buy this manual that will tell me step by step of the engine swap? cause if there is one ill buy it. i just didnt want people saying "rebuild it all fogred" etc etc

its tais hey, guy also has a TRD clutch im thinkin bout gettin. but i just bought another car so no money, the engine sounds alright hey

Alternator on the mr2 block is above the p/s pump. you have to use your gt4 alt bracket and bolt it onto the front of the motor. The holes are there already. not really a big deal. There is a difference with the top radiator hose housing,im not too sure though to be honest (I didnt do the swap on my car)

Thats all i can remember off the top of my head.

check the celicatech.com website. u might find something there Smile

edit: your badge on the intake plenum will read upside-down too Razz

Should be fine.

I've done the opposite - GEN 2 ST185 into MY 91 MR2 GT

works well. just had bad luck with 3 paid for blown turbos Crying or Very Sad

As long as it's the same generation the basic head and block are the same. You should stripp all the accessories off the celica engine and put them on the MR2 engine then put the engine in.
