howdy.
since you dont go to a concert and sit facing the back of the room it seems more logical to have better speakers in the front of the car. if your gunna cut away metal make sure that you put primer on it to stop it rusting and check that it doesnt hit anything or buy some build outs.

If you're going to cut metal just make sure its only sheet metal, don't cut into any of the supports or braces.
AFAIK you're not supposed to cut metal at all as it may alter the strength of the panel... just be warned that you "may" get defected if a cop really wants to give you grief.
