As far as you can see, "test fitting" the 180sx seats. Naturally, the g/f has raised poignant concerns about the upholstery no longer matching (now being two slightly different shades of grey).
The original seats are proving a problem, the rail on one wide will not unbolt, it will need to be cut off the entire side assembly thing, its one piece...so i'm currently brainstorming a way to do it whilst keeping them usuable for another person, as they're in perfect nic.

Maybe a trip to the wreckers and grab a crappy pair of seats for their rails?

Assesing the situation with a good 12 inches of ass crack
Maneuvering

Bolted in! Bonnet clears nicely
Turbo to steering box clearance
Shifter sits slightly behind original position.

After about a month of stuffing around waiting for bits and pieces, and money, the cooler is finally done.
Intercooler - $300
4 x 90 degree bends - $40
1 x 45 degree bend - $10
2 x 3" - 2" reducer - $20
1m straight 2" - $15
Welding Rods - $20
Discs - $10
Clamps - $40
Turbo hose - $20
Having to learn to weld properly - priceless.

Well, all done (kinda). It runs, and goes hard
Now I need to put an exhaust on it. Have one sitting here, but I can't for the life of me get it over the diff, so its going to the shop soonish for installation and new muffler. (How the hell thechuckster got it off the ra40, I have no idea )
Now for tidying it up a bit, and the usuall niggly bits.
Cheers, Matt

hi matt - well done!
i do recall that zorst system being a major PITA to remove from the yellow wreck - is probably why you're having so much fun with it
btw: that cooler is quite an impressive sight!
cheers,
Charles.

Cheers all, i'm trying to keep it looking a bit understated, hence removal of the spoiler etc. I'm thinking of having the cooler painted black by a radiator shop, they must use some thin paint or something.
Charles, cheers, that would be an interesting one to see, i'll have to wait til I sort out a little glitch, it seems to run out of puff at about 5000 rpm in each gear. Boost stays the same, 10psi at the plenum. It may be retarding the ignition, or the ignition is already too retarded, ill have to get a new timing light to check.
Only codes the ECU is throwing is 42, speed sensor, and I don't know if this would cause my symptoms. I didn't think it could. But along the track I want to get the reed switch/magnet setup going, or a manual ECU.
Anyways, it goes very well, up to that 5000rpm, more than enough for my currently stock brakes and diff

Not sure about fuel supply, i'll have to get a fuel pressure gauge onto it to check, i've dodgied an oil pressure gauge up, now i have to sort out a t-piece and some tight clamps for it to sit on the bonnet temporarily while I take it for a spin.
At the moment the fuel system is just a camira fuel pump mounted on the chassis rail with a cup brazed around the pickup in the tank. I had it down to nearly empty today and yesterday with no surge driving normally, so it seems to work alright for sensible driving. Throw it around a bit and who knows.
Radiator I was told was from a soarer, although it looks the same as MA70 supra radiators and MX83 cressida's. Just fits between the chassis rails, with some custom brackets holding it in place. Top outlet had to be moved, and has an inline filler.
The intercooler pipes run the same as Kirks RA28 pretty much. It was the simplest solution I could fathom using pre bent stuff from a truck exhaust shop. No problems with it so far, except the bottom skirt won't fit without some persuasion, which i'm yet to inflict upon it.

cool, seen kirks car, looks pretty nicely done, i just don't like the idea of cutting through the inner guard gotta be another way IMO... oh well, i'm gonna play with it until i get something like what i'm after
think i've got things sorted as far as the radiator is concerned, triple core the original, and have new tanks fitted........ ie... new radiator, about $370, so i'm not gonna complain,
what size intercooler did you end up with? bar and plate? or tube and fin?
what about thermo fans? what'd you use there? kirk said the davis craig fans were $#!+ house... what's the problem with them???
we're gonna have to have a SE QLD toyota meet one day... wanna compare notes with all the RA owners

Intercooler is the same as one of those 450x300x76 from modyourcar.com, bar and plate, 3 inch inlets etc.
I'm using two 12" generic thermo's pulling through the radiator, but its not hot enough to see if there is a problem with overheating. But i'm yet to see it go above a third of the stock water temp gauge, after a few hours stop start driving through town, without having the fans on. The 18rg ran slightly hotter than that, i'm fairly sure.
