KE70 drift
|

Hey, A mate of mine is interested in getting to drift and asked me to ask you guys what parts he would need for a basic beginers set up.
His car is a stock kE70 with a 4ac.
I told him to get stiffer springs and coil overs and strut braces but thats about all. He also asked me about prices but i havent got a clue about prices so if you can include that itll be much appriciated.
Thanks, Adam

Get your mate to set his suspension with the following springs
8/6 kg/mm setup..
or
6/4 for something more streetable.
Obviously strutbraces, thicker sway bars, etc.. will help. The less body roll your car has, the more in control you feel.
Start off with some worn tyres at the rear and grippy tyres at the front. Makes things easier.
Once he gets used to throwing around the car a little, he could get into some finer tuning with RCAs, Cambertops, etc to find what can make it easy for him...
Obviously an LSD assembly would be good (to regain traction when you are going side ways)...
And definitely, get a 4age under that bonnet. With the prices of 4age's being so cheap, he's got no excuse not to!

My sig, my car's suspension setup is slowly getting there, but to do good drift it needs a stronger diff and a 4ag...

My first KE70 was *MINT* condition, 160xxxkms, rwc, 11 months rego, $2000.
Second KE70 had an hour of rust fix work to be done, but the engine was in better condition, air con, reconditioned gearbox, new exhaust (replica of original), 150xxxkms, no rwc, no rego, $300...

ke70 = 4k (?)
ae70 = 3a
ae70 = 4ac
te70 = *T
upgrade suspension/diff etc. then do engine swap for a gze or a ge.
ke70 should cost you less then 500$, ae71 upto a grand (more if its completely mint/low k's but if ya gonna drift why bother with a mint car)

see I had this argument with someone on another forum a couple of weeks back..just becuase you beat a car that is supposedly an "animal" in the hills once, that does not make you the touge champion as there are many factors, one of them being...the person in the "animal car" possibly was a shit driver or was not pushing, and im not going to go on listing them all
my soarer is a boat through the hills, ill admit it, but im fairly confident that given three corners you would be so far behind me I couldnt smell you...and ive heard youre a pretty smelly dude....
