I hear another VL key (or any other around that era) will work.

Yeah this is the only way anyone has ever broken into these cars cause its so easy.
But the problem is the area I am in is populated by people with too much money. So this is the only Commonwhore in walking distance Confused

You don't necessarily need another commodore key.

I could also open H series holdens with my VK key and also newer VL's too, I think you can just about open any pre 1988 holden with that style key.

My gf's vl used to be like that. Any thing which would fit in the key hole would turn the lock. I opened it with a broken paddel pop stick once.

Dont insurance companies give you a free windscreen or something? I heard that was part of the policy. If you're gonna break a window it should be the windscreen. Very Happy

Well the idea was to lift the car with the forklift and punch a hole in the floor so the door could be unlocked.
But with my bad forklift driving I got too close to the car and damage the 2 doors. It all went down hill from there when we put the forks through the 2 driver side doors and then out the passenger side. We then proceeded to try and lift the car with the forks in the doors. Anyway the car is now fucked.
We're gonna take the hat around later today and buy the poor girl a new car.

You can see a busted lock. You cant see a hole in the floor with the carpet covering it! Plus what do you expect? It was the end of the day and everyone was bored.

Oh i wasn't having a go at your methodology.

Moreso, just finding it hard to come to grips you totalled a car with a forklift while trying to lift it up to punch a hole in the floor to get into the cr to unlock it! LOL

You didn't expect to damage the doors turning it on it's side to punch a hole in the floor. You should have got the westside turks around. If anyone could break into a VL it's them

Oldkrola: WTF are you doing drinking american beer in japan? You should be eating stuff that if identified you'd run away and kirin or asahi.

Ahhhhh, the flexibility of the old forklift Wink . A dude at work was taking something off a back of a truck with our forklift. This thing was on top of many many pallets of cereal boxes. Somehow, the forks were too low, so somehow, the forks ended up stuck in cereal boxes Confused . You have never seen a truck driver so dang cranky! Laughing At least everyone else was laughing... With the exception being the driver of the forklift.

I must say, the idea of punching a hole in the floor to get at the keys is suave. But destroying a VL commodore in the execution of that plan is pure genius! I wish someone did that to more VL's! Cool

Actually I got the fork lift to move the car off the street so no one would steal it over night. Once I had it in a more secure location. someone suggested that we put a hole in the floor to reach in and unlock it. So i went to put the forks under the car again but edged forward a tad to close and damaged the doors Confused Got carried away from there on Rolling Eyes
