noise when blipping throttle Sat, 30 July 2005 10:45 Go to next message
Hi All,

My GTI Small port started to make this noise today when blipping the throttle. it is an initial knock mixed with induction sounds and quickly goes away.
I will disconnect altenator belt tomorrow to cancel it out.

Any idears or input would be good. I am hopping that it is not cam,oil and valve related.

Thanks,

Ty

I forgot to mention.

When going to and from work today i noticed that under load the engine sounded like it was pinging. I thourght that i must have had some bad fuel as it has never done this before.

Big end rattle? Has your engine suffered low oil pressure recently? Checked the oil level?

The engine runs fine. it is only that initial blip ans doesn't rattle all the time. I useing 5W 40 synthetic oil which is thin and need to change. Oil pressure is ok with this oil.

Thanks,

Ty
