after some info about my 1989 cresta.
what type of lsd are used in them and what ones can be put into them?
What type is the standard manual gearbox and how much power can it handle?
What coilovers from other toyota models can be easly fitted in the car or are there ones available for them.
thanks

What is the model code for your Cresta?
I'm pretty sure it's the same chassis as the Cressida/Chaser/MkII so the mechanicals will be much the same. This means G series diff, so a wide range of OEM/aftermarket LSD centres are available. If your car has an LSD already it will be a clutch type, same as the MA70 Supra.
As for the transmission, it depends which engine you have. 7M-GTE or 1JZ-GTE will have an R154 5-speed, otherwise it will be a W58 5-speed.
JXZ81 Chaser coilovers should be a direct fit. Try talking to John at ImportBitz, he should be able to source some for you.

If its an LX80 then nothing rear suspension/diff wise is compatible from other models.
Front suspension only.

thanks for the response.
it is a gx81 series
it only has the 1gfe engine in it put i will soon change that to a 1ggte.
I just wanted to make sure i have lsd coilovers and such first. plus i just found out how big the damn front springs are they are huge! so i want to get coilovers soon so i can get some mags that don't foul with the strut.

The rim doesnt come close to the spring dude.
The spring is higher than the tyre.
And you'll be much better off getting a JZX81 cut.

Agreed. A 1G-GTE will be an improvement but still pretty ordinary. You'll get a much better result with a 1JZ-GTE and if you can source a JZX81 front cut it will be no harder to install.

Yes, standard JZX81 ecu.
And define what you mean by 'all the stuff in your car'

my plan would be a straight engine swap so i would want the standard computer from the front cut i get to run in my car with no problem. So "all the stuff" in my car still works like the climate control.

The engine ECU runs the engine and nothing more. Climate control and "all the other stuff" is completely separate.
