narutos not even finished how can you say youve seen it all?

my picks -

kimi ga nozomu eien (if you like a bit of a soppy drama)
gungrave
sunabouzu (this is being released VERY slowly)
samurai champloo
onegai teacher (dont worry about onegai twins.. thats inferior)
shingetsutan tsukihime
gunslinger girl
scrapped princess

as said above both FMA and FMP. Theres a new series of FMP
due very shortly also incidentally.. oh and kudos to whoever mentioned Bleach. that owns!

one thing youre going to be better off doing, and this is not to promote piracy in anyway because ive bought a lot of the anime series that ive enjoyed from fansubs to do the right thing.. but try and get your hands on the original fansubs in conjunction with anything you buy.

why?

because FUNimation/ADV/Geneon or whoever buy the distribution licences for north america end up cutting up the original series and badly translating them.. literally fucking them up. even cutting out whole episodes. FMA had one episode cut from it. I daresay naruto will have half a dozen. Onegai Teacher was edited as well and a lot of bits cut out of it. Watch the original.. but buy the licenced copy if you liked it. Its not Madman Entertainments fault unfortunately. theyre just the monkeys who repackage the north american crap for our market..

I love the G.T.O series. It kind of contributed to my ear rings Embarassed

I'm suprised no one has mentioned "Golden Boy". Though it's only 6 episodes of cartoon, it was one of those anime's where you have to pause it so you don't kill yourself from laughing too much.

i mainly thought the voices were better and it has more ecchi in the storyline (if you like that sorta thing) compared to the dubbed version its virtually the same except they edit small features with it

he's seen it

and LOVE HINA SUX!!

I don't know why everyone loves it. OK I can't really say it sucks because I watched the entire series in one go about 5 years ago so I don't really remember it but I do remember it was sort of entertaining but nothing special.

I'm doing Japanese Culture through Anime as an elective so I'll give your recommendations a shot Very Happy

i agree. akira is todger fetta.

i think its quite average. might have been good for 15 years ago when it was released. might have been a good introduction to anime/manga for people starting out. but certainly is not anywhere close to todays standards and should not be considered a benchmark for anime in any way.

besides akira isnt technically anime, its manga.. (well in a converted sense of the word.. its a direct translation from the manga book, thus its animated manga)
