running turbo on STD ECU Sun, 07 August 2005 08:38 Go to next message
Hi,

Can i run a turbo using my 100kw ecu? What are those fuel mixture kits you get from jaycar called? Will a piggy back ecu allow thw Std ecu to work with a turbo?
i would to change my small port pistons to GZE pistons.

Sorry for the questions

if you skimp on your ecu it may well cost you alot of $$$ in the long run when you melt a piston or 2

provided you run low boost most standard ecu's can run 7psi or so , i know vp comodored do and 92 model rodeos lol.. have been running for about 6 months both of them with no issues

and providing you have a good cooling system and dont flog the shit out of it 24/7 yours should do the same

a genuine composite HG or nearly any composite HG will handle a good amount of boost.
depends if you wanna spend the extra $$ getting the block and head prepped correctly to use a metal HG i sopse.
