Silvertop 4age 20v (price drop) Mon, 25 July 2005 03:33 Go to next message
ENGINE IS UP FOR SALE AGAIN!

The was-to-be buyer had an accident, and was no longer able to afford to buy it, I paid his deposit back.

Silvertop 20v engine (out of AE101)

(ECU and wiring have been sold)

includes: -factory 4-2 extractors
-silvertop flywheel
-can throw in factory pressure plate and
clutch plate off blacktop 20v if wanted
-may also throw in AC compressor if wanted
-AE101 instrument cluster showing 40000ks

The engine still has on it: alternator, waterpump, thermostat housing, quad throttles, air-box, factory ram tubes etc - just all the bits and pieces it should have.

$700: Engine (includes clutch, exhaust manifold, AC, instrument cluster)

$600 Engine without exhaust manifold, clutch, or instrument cluster

or make reasonable offers on things.

Freighting the engine would cost nearly as much as the engine itself so forget it.

In Brisbane, southside

Did I mention this engine has run a 15.9 qtr mile time at willowbank. This was in an aw11 (1050kg) with slow gear changes 'cos the box crunches with high rpm changes.

I still have the instrument cluster from the half cut that the engine was out of. I'm willing to throw this into the deal.

http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=getfile&id=13696

As you can see, 40607 ks, and I've driven less than 20000 ks on the engine.

while this is pretty low ks, its still a second-hand engine (or third hand I guess) so you can't expect anything too perfect.

Bump again,

Those who've pmed me about posting interstate, I'd rather try and sell it locally first. I havn't even found out how much it would be to post the engine, or who to get to do it even. (Australia post seems to have a limit of 20kg on parcels)

Toll or DHL would be the ones to use to ship something so big.

Just had a gearbox shipped from Brisbane to Sydney via Toll.

DHL would be a bit more expensive.

Bustin, the engine came out of a FWD ae101, and was used in the same FWD-like east-west configuration in my MR2. Simple answer, no its not a RWD engine.

what is the difference between the silvertop and the blacktop?

does $800 sound reasonable for the motor?

I might take $800 for the motor without the ecu and wiring.

Also, would you do without the clutch and pressure plate?

Blacktop has slightly higher compression, slightly more valve duration (or lift) on intake cam, (I think), larger throttles, different air intake box and different ram tubes, and is map sensed instead of afm. (all the diffs I can think of right now) Hence why the blacktop is more expensive.

Hmm, was that 595 with or without the ECU?
any info about what / where icihban is?
does anyone actually buy engines from icihban?

I guess If the interest in it drops off I'll have to start dropping the price, or maybe selling bits of it separately.

I still think 1100 is not a bad price for the lot, but I guess it depends what people are willing to pay. I paid $1750 for the front cut, but that was quite a while a go I guess.

Anyone know prices of 20v front cuts these days? I mostly go by local places. At Asian-Auto-spares, I think they vary from $1500-$1750

Ok, well, I'm willing to sell the engine without the computer or wiring for $800, and thats with the exhaust manifold, and I'll let the clutch go in the same deal. (I might as well update the first post now I guess)

For the ECU, wiring and AFM, I'd want $300 ono.
I'd like to sell the engine without it first though.

I think you can make them fit in a paseo, but it would probably require custom engine mounts it probably would not bolt up to the paseo 'box.

I think its better to go for a 4efte in a paseo.

I've sold the engine BTW

now $600 for engine without accessories

$700 with exhaust manifold, clutch, cluster, etc.

If anyone wants the engine complete, they better show some interest soon, otherwise I'll probably end up separating and selling bits off it. (I've already had interest in the distributer, throttles and other things)

Last I checked, it seemed like freighting the whole engine would cost over $500, according to the Toll or DHL website.
