Toymods Winter Drag [racing] Nights - *UPDATE* 21st September Mon, 08 August 2005 13:21 Go to next message
I rekon its time to go again!! Very Happy

WSID - Off Street Drag Racing
Wed 7th and 21st September
Starting from ~4pm


Competitor and spectator gates opening at 5pm with racing from 6pm until 10pm.

Wicked Wednesdays are held each and every Wednesday night all year round. (Except Jan 26th; Australia Day).
The cost is $45 to race and $15 to spectate with children under 12 FREE.


  • Gates open for competitors from 5pm
  • Scrutineering from 5pm until 7.30pm (unless 200 car quota
  • filled before 7.30pm)
  • Racing from 6pm until 10pm
  • Gates open for spectators at 5pm
  • Entry: Spectators $15
  • Children under 12 admitted free
  • Competitors: $45


Important Items to bring:
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Rego paper for the vehicle (if the vehicle is not registered to you, authorisation from owner, and rego papers)
  • Remember - NO REGO PAPERS NO RACE
  • Long sleeved shirt and pants
  • Helmet


Who is interested in going??

If we have some decent interest, we can arrange with the WSID organisers to have our own staging lane set up!! This means we can race against each other and get an almost "priority" treatment on the night!!!

The first one i want to see: KE20 vs KE30 Razz



I'll be entering the crown to lay down and bog stock 1UZ-FE time Razz estimated ET = mid-high 15's.

Ok guys - im going to push the date back on this one so that we can get a few more people coming along and make a real night of it....

September 22nd is the date of choice thus far. That's the wednesday just after the September general meeting...


Some people are still keen for the 31st August... im thinking i might come along to spectate and photo/film the Toyotas of choice.

Having had to bail from tonight's event i'm dead keen. Car should be sorted to the point i'll hopefully be running actual DOT rated drag rubber of some sort and can attempt a decent time.

Have to try and round up a organised Canberra crew to head down together.

I'm keen for both. 31/8 will be a test run with street rubber and then if all goes well head back with some DOT rated drag rubber in Sept to lay a decent time.

I'm looking at going and racing my car on the 31st August. Although if Shane (IJZ-747) goes, my car will look slow Embarassed Oh well, it will be nice to see what sort of times I can get. Keep in mind (excuses already) its an open wheeler diff and stock original toyota clutch. Its a bit of fun Very Happy hope to see you there.

I am keen to try and get out there for a run if I can get out of work early on the 31st....

I estimate I will get about a 13.2 @ 175km/h for it's maiden run(any faster and I'm going to hit speed cut)

at this stage its looking like i wont make it. gearbox wont be back in the car till tuesday maybe wednesday, still have to get it tech inspected prior to licensing pass.

just not having luck in regards to time on my side.

Well thanks to the Spanish consulate's timely delays in getting our visa's finalised, I will still be in Sydney for the 31st August. Looking forward to seeing a few of you there.

Anyone want a pit man???? I'm really good at telling you how fast your car is.....honest Wink

Oh and I will bring the camera too.
