Weird sounds from exhaust

Hi guys, i'm just hoping someone can shed sum light on what's wrong with my car and give me a guide on what part of the car may need to be replaced/fixed.
its doesn't accelerate cleanly, more like jerky than anything else and when i let go of the accelerator i can hear mild popping sounds from the exhaust.
sumtimes i'm fully flooring the accelerator and it seems like its barely accelerating??? like sumthing's holding it back.
My mechanic checked the carbie and said its fine.. then he just poured sum liquid in my fuel tank which is meant to clear things up... didn't really do much tho..
so i really wanna get it fixed but just don't know where the major problem would lie.
is it my fuel pump??
any suggestions would be nice~~

Is it the muffler? When the one in my Corona went I had to floor it to get up to 100 and it ran really badly.
New muffler only and goes like a champ.

the stuff he poured in i assume was injector cleaner...hope he didnt charge you for it coz its about 7 dollars a bottle

not sure if ur car runs a Cat... Im guessing not'
but if so... make sure its not fucked and getting blocked.... happened to my dads van before, same symptons as you describe... his quick fix was to drill a few holes in the zorst just infront of the cat to release the pressure.....fuck it was loud... pretty funny too......(VW transporter new skool style)

It could be worthwhile.... you have to sus all posabilities out..
