Shennanigan's pub jumps from open to close, do a nice Kilkenny draught and an excellent steak. Full of tourists, particularly female pommie backpackers.
They have Guinness, Kilkenny and Harp Irish beers on tap plus all of the Aussie regulars.
If you want a proper steak go to the Argentine Grill at Cullen Bay, T bones start at 500gm for the wife version and go all the way up to 3Kg for real men, the 1Kg one came in at $48 when I was there in June.
BTW. Shennanagin's sells more Kilkenny than all of the Aussie beers put together

Mate, Mitchell st in the city is where the majority of clubs/pubs are. And being the dry season up here, the joint is chockas full of snackpackers.
