Probly means the craze has reached it's peak but has a while left to run.
all the people who originally had them to be different will be selling theirs and getting something rarer but there are plenty who are trying to jump on the bandwagon. Of course, then threres the true enthiusiasts who wouldn't think of putting a turbo on it and will probly still be driving it in another 20years.
Trouble is people who want to be different are usually the ones with the cleanest cars, and they will be selling them to some rich 17yo who will prob' crash it, which is bad news for the true '86 fans who like the car for what it is and not for attention seeking reasons.

let me be honest here. AE86's are good cars but their not the best. I guess its the fame of drifting and Initial D, but after onwing the car for sometime, commitments get in the way or they can afford a more expensive car but only have one garage or, dont want to maintain both cars. You wont see a person sell he's 2jz supra for a trueno.

the cumiltive total of all those ae86's u posted garth total over $100000 with one saying offers which i'd expect to be over 6000. Just thought that was a fun fact
I think you and I both see eye-to-eye when we talk about the current people who are interested in AE86's. And I think a lot of the old owners of these cars, the ones that spent a lot of time and money in them are realising that the scene isn't what it used to be and they want to move on from 20yo rust bucket, into something with a bit more class with a better reputation. Something which the ae86 has lost of very recent time.
These days owning an ae86 means you have to drift it...
(Disclaimer: This is just my opinion, do not bite my head off)

Hi,
I think they've just discovered 1st generation Celicas and realised their 86's are out-classed and out-cooled. So they're selling them in the droves.

Initial d fad is dying. Enthusiasts are sick of being grouped together with P plater gimps and cashing in on the sick dorifto crowd. Cashed up kids are looking for glam, spinnaz and neonz biatch, oh yea~ Most 3 grand sprinters don't exactly dazzle. You can tell the gimps from the enthusiasts when the first mod done to it is a canon exhaust and some stickers.

its ae86 mass exodus! Be interesting to see what effect this has on the cars price, hopefully the new owners will be just as passionate as the old
