How road worthy does it need to be? I can help out with one that's in fair condition and runs. Not 100% sure how much work would be needed to get it re-registered. If interested, let me know your price range and I'll check out exactly what she needs done to pass road worthy.

All old school corollas run leaf rear ends. The 10 does run drum front but this is easily replaced with the KE30 front setup which runs discs. Conversions between 10 and 30 (and onwards 35, 55 etc) are all easy if not bolt ons. The KE20s run a mazda stud pattern rather than the 4 x 100 of the other corollas. The 20s suspension components are also different to the other corollas, making parts a lot harder to find. The 20s can also be harder to work with because of this. My advice would be either start looking at 30s onwards or stick with the 10 idea and change the front to run a 30 setup.
As i said previously Ii may be able to help out with a KE10 depending on condition you will accept. I can also definitely help out with KE30 running gear to do the conversion. Or i have a whole 4 door 30 for sale

actually, the KE10 has both coils and a transverse leaf that fits under the engine crossmember.

ke10 have front coils which serve no purpose other than to hold the shock seals in place. the engine crossmember is home to a 3 part transverse leaf spring.
it is a very odd suspension setup, on my last ke10 we removed the transverse leaf and put in very short RX4 springs (the ke10 coils do not actually support the weight of the engine).
