First of all if I was to get a Nissan engine I would get a turbo engine.
The best option for an SR20 is the DET not the DE...but if it is out of your price range then get a CA18DET because first of all it is more powerful and tougher than the SR20DE, it is cheaper and it requires less space so in that engine bay, the CA18DET fits much better.
A 4AGE is a pretty good engine to put in it because it is light and such a good reliable engine. The only problem with the engine is it has NO power below 2,000RPM.
The CA or the 4AGE are your best bets. Just remember that if you are actually going to get it done it costs alot of money to get the engine put in including new mounts, cross members gear box, etc. Also get it done properly with an engineerer's certificate...it's worth it!!!
Oh i just remembered get a half-cut with computer, gearbox, brakes and everything that you need for the conversion...otherwise it is a pain in the arse!!!
Good luck!!!
