ghosts of mars gets an honourable mention from me. it did have one redeeming feature tho (people getting torn apart by mysterious tornadoes), so it can't be the *worst*
and yes, if you honestly think blade runner is one of the worst movies ever made, you need your eyes opened

A lot of you here are just mentioning movies you didn't like/get. That, to me, isn't the worst movie ever. I really liked 2001. Yes the art scenes dragged on a bit, but if your attention span is that short, then may I suggest you stick to the fast and the furious.
Come on guys, you're just NOT TRYING! (or perhaps you haven't seen enough movies)
To be TRUELY the worst movie ever, it has to be something that nobody really likes. Something with horrible direction, camera work, acting, script writing, props, and post production.
For instance:
Dracula 3000
Mutant Hunt
Electra
Ghosts of Mars
Chicken park (oh the pain)
Deathrace 2000 (never seen it, but heard from many sources of it crapulence)
I thought Exiztenz was up there too, but I've been informed that a lot of people (possibly mentally retarded people on heavy amounts of illegal mind altering drugs) realy liked it.
I also thought these movies where bad, but obviously not even in the running for worsed ever:

Species 2
Underworld
Blade Trinity (I don't believe I've seen that twice)

i think its called Dracula 3000 - highly recomended as the worst movie by friends who specialise in bad movie saturdays I have seen braindead and bad taste - bioth are bloody aweful - but funny in a bad way
get dracula 3000! just for the experience!

Caravan of Courage was good when I was a kid. I'm afraid to watch it again now though, just in case I find out it actualy sucked, and have to look back on my fond memories of it in disgust at my own poor taste.
As for Starship Troopers 2, I heard that not even an avid 'crap' science fiction lover can even begin to enjoy that movie.

The Acadamy of Motion pictures isn't about good movies, it's about propping up the ego of their peers.
I DO happen to have totaly different views to the Acadamy. I like good movies.
Having said that though, Titanic wasn't shit. It wasn't great, and was nowhere near as good as everyone said it was at the time, but it's even in the running for worsed movie ever.

I would definatley have to say Sky captain and the world of tomorrow...had to endure thorugh this movie on the plane. Saw that it had angelina jolie, jude law so i thought it would be of sum standard.
However to my amazement this was the shittiest piece of shitty shit ever. It didnt know if it was an action/fantasy/war movie so kept on chaging in between the 3 genres.
Definitley the worst movie ever, not only becasue its poor quality, but the fact that these 'stars' permitted their names to be assoiciated with it.

errtrr... there is no way in hell sin city is the worst movie ever. In fact, it's closer to the top than the bottom.
starship troopers 2 was straight to video. The acting is worse, it tries to be more serious (which is a mistake), and there's no denise richards boobies trying to pop out of her various outfits (even if her face does look like melted wax), and that nude shower scene isn't in it either.

Plan 9 from Outer Space is pretty shiteful, but Ed Wood's worst film has to be Glen or Glenda.
The only way he could get funding for it was to tell the financers that it was a horror film (1950s), but what he really wanted to make was a movie about cross dressing. So, the film starts off being about aliens/ghosts/whatever but then all of a sudden the lead (played by Ed Wood) starts shopping in ladies clothing stores and wearing cashmere.
All the interior shots are filmed on the same set, to simulate a different location he just moved the furniture around a bit!
About 1 hr into the movie he stuck 10 minutes of spare footage of a woman dancing- it makes no sense. I think I turned it off after that.
I've seen Bad Taste, thought it was one of Peter Jackson's better films, along with Brain Dead.
Moulin Rouge is the biggest load of shite I have ever had the misfortune to sit through. Actually, I find most things Baz Luhrmann to be excessively tacky.
Another crap Oz film is 'Stone', the biker gang one. I had such high hopes for it, being a classic Oz film and all. But it was pretty laughable.
Meet Joe Black is right up there too.

People with short attention spans would still say LOTR is still a long movie..
Sin City isn't the WORST movie... but i think if u took out the artistic black and white photography you'd have a pretty crap movie (and i like comic books)
I hated Spawn, Batman 3&4, starwars ep 1,2, catwoman.
I watched Catwoman on a pirated DVD and still wanted my money back. Felt so ripped off.

Regular BladeRunner, or Director's cut? I've never seen regular B.R. with the commentary, only Director's cut with the long silent periods. 20+ times for English, Yr.12.. . .
I suspect you either don't get it, or have had all enjoyment of it squeezed out of you by constant disection and analysis at school. Either way it's a good movie, and you are wrong/gay.

Take the special effects out of 50% of the movies from hollywood and you're left with far less than you are with Sin City. Can anyone say Star Wars Episode 1-3? Actualy I think SW woulda been better without the special effects. LOL.

No WAY dude - Batman 4 (with Arnie as Mr. Freeze) was so horridly SH!T that it actually caused Me physical pain to sit in front of it ! ! ! Such bad acting/script/plot/costumes/sets/fight scenes . . . . . . Three thumbs DOWN ! !
The Adam West film was superior in every way ! 
Yup on the Catwoman/Electra thing tho - I'll never watch them, or Daredevil. My ex rented Daredevil when I was away one weekend: I looked at it, then her when I got Home, and asked: "What? Why?!"
Reply: "I know - I thought it might be okay, but it was shit."
Me: (Shakes head) "Yeeahup."
Pretty much any Chick-Flick with an "Allstar ensemble cast" is gaurenteed vomit-inducing shyte - think anything involving Ashlee Judd or Shirley McLaine for starters . . . . . .

Battlefield Earth was godawful, as was Waterworld. Saw both of these on video - what a waste of cash.

... yeah okay Batman 4 was pretty bad. it wasn't nearly as bad as Dracula 3000, Exsitenz or Mutant Hunt though... or the TV series Alias.
I think my scope of what 'bad' is, is just tuned differently, as I have seen some truely horrid films that made me want to die just so that I didn't have to remember them anymore.

terrable acting- juszt lyke yore speling.
I don't remember being offended by it (Dude from sliders was lead Male??) - Maybe I was paying too much attention to the crazy-assed storyline, which kept on dropping from one reality to another. Lots of organ sacks being plugged into people's spines etc.. .
You want bad acting, take a look at Brad Pitt in "Meet Joe Black." - I can't believe this turkey dragged out to 3 hours, most of which is Pitt staring at space like He's retarded!

i agree with 80% of all the bad movies on here.
some to be added to the list:
- face off
- once apon a time in mexico
- cabaret (fucking yr 12)
- demolition man(the movie based in 2010 where some guy gets frozen for like 30 years, and when he wakes up the world has changed so much that u get a fine for swearing and everyones a pussy)
- police acadamy(first 3 are good, but anything after 5 is pure crap)
- the rock
- ANYTHING which stars tom green
- ANYTHING which stars jim carey
