Polished 4AG cam covers Sun, 21 August 2005 07:36 Go to next message
Does anyone remember (sometime earlier this year) somebody here on the forums posted saying they could supply shaved and polished 4AG cam covers for about $100 - I am 90% sure they posted it in the Miscellaneous section, but I've searched through that and came up with nothing. I remember the post had a pic as well...

In any case, I am after a pair of 86kW/bigport 4AG aluminium cam covers, off a NA motor because they have the lugs that mount the spark plug coverplate high up (near the top of the cam cover, not further down in the gap between the two covers).

Cheers

P.S. I'm in Perth by the way.

I have a pair in Sydney.
What you are after are the 100Kw covers that have the black plastic centre cover. Have a black plastic piece as well if you need that.

Well, I don't think I need the centre piece.

Here's my current set up:

...and the problem I am trying to fix is to close the gap that exists between the plug boots and the black cover plate. Now, I recently bought a new cover plate (not shown in the pic) off someone here in Perth, and it fits fine, except my cam covers have the plate fixing holes lower down (which cause the gap in the first place).

Basically, I'm looking for these sort of cam covers:

Which I think is a 100kW engine, so if yours looks like that, then I'm interested! Got a price in mind?

Also, would you know if I also need different (longer) bolts to fit the covers to the head?

Cheers

That's the 86kw (AKS bigport) engine.
The 100Kw spark plug leads are thinner and the plug caps go under the top cover not through it.
Can't help you sorry.

If you got the 100kw dizzy cap and leads, the spark plug caps would fit your current low-level plate. Cheaper to get 86kw rocker covers.
