New guy on the blacktop. With pics. Wed, 08 June 2005 14:14 Go to next message
Gday all you mad dog toyota boffins.

Just a new guy saying hello.

I have recently aquired a KE20 race car with the following mods.

3k race motor
forged pistons = 10.8 comp ratio
massive cam (so big it won't idle below about 1800 rpm!!!)
twin side draft mikunis
head work
4.5 ratio locked diff
roll cage
race seats and willans harness

all runs on modded susp (not sure on details) and formula ford tyres. Ran a 2min 2sec lap at winton on first go. Not sure if thats good or not as it was both first time in car and first time at winton.

I also own a 450hp rx7, but don't hold that against me.

The KE20 runs on avgas at the moment, and the heads have had the valve seats modded but don't know if they have been modded for unleaded or just made bigger for the bigger valves it runs, but due to this fuel being outlawed on June 30th, I am thinking about swaping the motor for a 4AGE.

So thus I have joined this forum as I was informed that you guys know all there is to know about toyotas.

I am in melb, so if anyone knows of any 4AGE motors going (pref with loom and maybe gear box) then let me know.

Will try to get pics of the agro little machine up soon. Maybe even a sound file as it is one awsome sounding machine. All my mates can't believe that such a big sound comes from such a little car.

Cheers

Hey turboii ,I posted this info up in general talk but for you're info ,there is a 4ag complete in an ae82 (fwd) at pick, pay &go (64 Heatherdale Rd Ringwood) at the mo and they want $280 for the complete motor(without box)with everything hanging off it +$55 for the comp.
Harveys in Langwarren had a couple of ae71's a couple of months back with 5 speeds still in them so check em out also.
Congrats on stepping up to a Toyota
cheers joe

I presume from the Exhaust Technology sticker..that you're from Adelaide?
Try Four's N More at Pooraka, they're pretty good with Modded cars!

i bought the car from adelaide, but live in melb.

Not sure on how the carbies work with the airfilter set up. Haven't played with the car to much cos i am new to carbies, thus have no idea what i am doing hahaha.

Thanks for the comments.

Looks good. Just take your air cleaner off and take a pic of the carby set up. I'd like to know how it's set up to. My neighbor has a A4 (I think ) and wants a bit more out of it.

Bastard! Mad

You have both of my favourite types of car and that rolla looks sweet as. One day I must own another rolla but not until I have enough $ to build the perfect one.
