shouldnt buy secondhand tyres, youre better off with a recap/retread, and as you know, these are horrible too

with 2ndhand tyres you do not know when they were manufactured (you could check though) and tyres dont have unlimited lifespan, even if left in storage.

wouldnt want a tyres belting to come apart or the tyre to shred itself into a million peices as you drive Very Happy

i fyou do end up buying 2nd, make sure its at most 2 years old.

your yellow pages should have some local places.

Ive never heard of probs with second hand tyres, however ive heard that when retreads pop they and be quite vicious and a mate told me when his went in his gemini it messed up his guards pretty bad. It depends what you want them for. As to where to get them most tyre yards should sell them.

Why not try ebay or something like that?

I managed to pick up 4 brand new 235/45 17s on "Trade me" over here in NZ for $500. You never know your luck.

GRANVILLE USED TYRES

they are the best
haha funniest bunch of guys too hehehehe

i always get my tyres from there when i need em, jsut make sure u dig in and have a look for them with them to get the best ones and make em chip 5 bucks off the price, they will fit balance them too, probably about 40 bucks a tyre.

retreads are SHIT, i was doing 140 in my mums telstar and one blew, i thinnk the legal speed limit on them is 140 but anyways shows how shonky they are, fucked the gaurd too. basically they are unstable and shit, if anyone sold me a car with "new tyres" and they were retreads id id jsut laugh cause there worth fuck all in me view, id rather drive with balds at least u know wat itll do.

ok im sick im done ranting.

got a second hand set of pirelli's on my dad's camry... had almost full tread, hasn't missed a beat since.

Got one second hand tyre on my rear left, after i ran over some metal which pierced the sidewall of my normal tyres... haven't had any problems again

Definately better than retreads

I use rear tyres more than i do fuel and I just buy secondhand 1's. Tyres r tyres. But as 4 the front, especially if ya own a FWD then just get the expencive ones for the front for now, and watever cuz the rear never slides on a frontie even with 175's... so just have to worry bout front end traction and ya shouldn't really cheap out on that. sorry but never touch re-treads. just make sure ya check out the secondhand tyre first.
