Hi,
I have a lexus rx330 in Malaysia. The engine was damanged during a flash flood. Since the engine block has been damaged I was thinking of putting in a complete engine instead of repaiging it.
Would a 1mz-fe from a camry or avalon fit into the rx330 just fine? Are the mountings the same? Is there anything else I need to look into before doing something like this?
The car is a 2003/2004 model. Any info on what I can do or where to get engines would be appreciated.
Thank you
Zachary

Does the RX330 run a 1MZ or 3MZ?
If it runs a 1MZ you can use camry 1MZ, as long as it has all the same feature (VVTi etc)

lexus rx330 wouldn't run a 1mz, being a 3litre. lexus model names coincide with engine size, ie ls400 is 4.olitre, is200 is 2.olitre etc.
rx330 would then be 3.3litre, but it doesn't even say on the lexus.com site what the model code of the engine is.
check the build plate in the engine bay...it should say it on there somewhere.

It'll be a 3MZ.
1MZ might fit, but there will be a range of other issues to consider (thinking along the lines of integration of wiring). I'd imagine resale will take a good hit too.
