back seat passengers are only extra wieght any way.

i have spoken to an engineer, i may be able to keep it regod as a 5 seater as its pretty snug to the roof and the taxi bar doesnt impose in the passengers head area in an impact.

time will tell, but it really doesnt bother me, i think that back seat has been sat in 5 times in the 6 years i have owned the car. my golf clubs will look good on there.

Who cares indeed, how many of these people have 10 second cars in full street trim? That cage looks nice and tidy! Nice work to who ever did it for you.

Also, yeah it's not out till the second Sad I went to the news agent yesterday and got told this. I was dissapointed! Nothing to read on my lunch break, ohwell such is life.

the guys at HPI and Zoom seem to be fairly emphatuated with your car at the moment Shane and rightly so.

It makes me laugh when I think back a long while when one of your aims was to "beat that guy from HPI with his bloody R34". I think you've got every R34 GT-T in the country well and truly under control these days.

yes i remember those days. i think the 747 has not only surpassed my expectations but also a few of those guys. i just really would like to get some sponsorship and get some head work and cams, and a bottom end that will handle the power and go for a nine. i am glad i went and got all the safety gear, but thats $4000 i could of spent on the head and been making bullshit power.

i will be content with its current times for a while yet. until yello rolla comes over for a cuppa tea next and gets in my ear.

Nice job on the 1j-747, I remeber when this was in Zoom (or was it HPI?) a few years ago, I bought the mag just because of it (and I was in the process of 1j-ing my Supra Wink )

Does this issue have a black MA70 inside? Powered by a very tough 7M?

Cheers,
Caelum

its really tuff, something like 700hp at the wheels and an absolute immac intercooler setup...So sweet...... its no 747 tho

That 3rzfe (hilux engine) 180sx is supposed to be racing at Jamboree. Will be interesting to see if it can match the performance on the track. Or as I have seen other times, get kicked off because of condensation with the water to air intercooler.

Are you talking about Blacksupra's has it done a full power run. Last i heard was 246rwkw from the dyno day when they were only using part throttle and not the full rev range.

Cmon guys dont hijack the thread about shane's success and his zoom article.

Lets say it is more than the tough black ma70 that is featured.

I want to see the article first before i comment further.

There is still more power from my motor pending $$ and headgasket:) 7m = p00

That tough black ma70 is owned by a forums poster (well sometimes poster but mainly lurker) too - congats Dan! Cool

It's very very nice in the flesh as well, extremely well built and neat as - should be easily capable of much more if the owner ever wants to wind it up. Wink

It says you used it for spool up. Is this true?
I thought you said you didn't use it at all?

Doesn't really matter as N2O is fine to use in the class with the weight of the car but just wondering for reference sake. Smile

OK Busted that is me. I just need a decent tank of fuel and more time on the dyno. Oh and an intercooler with piping larger than 50mm diamter....
Nice work on the numbers, I heard from somewhere that someone made 340 at the wheels and had a feeling it was you. Anyhow like you said lets not hi jack this thread maybe start a new one?

Quote:

...At QLD jambo we made 380 rwhp at 17psi. we were making 40 rwhp per pound on anything over 14psi. (i have a 14psi spring inthe wastegate). i was at 97% duty cycle on 550cc injectors using 45psi rail pressure. it ran a best of 119.46 MPH on the 11.8 run. but averaged 118.5 MPH.

next outing was compak attak, we changed fuel from c16 to sunoco. we picked up considerable torque gains but power stayed the same. for some reasaon the power would drop off after 4375rwhp. which later was found to be a slipping clutch in the converter(confirmed by MV automatics) at compak attak it ran consistant 118.5 MPH until heat soak settled in on elimination rounds as they were run back to back. all though coming runner up in this event i was disappointed no to run in the 11's again due to the stall issue. watching the footage it was clear the car drove 40 metres or so before seeing any reasonable boost.

after getting my tax return cheque i had some money to improve things. we decided to up the injectors. i went with rochester 1000cc injectors as they were $50 cheaper per injector than 850cc's and i didnt have time to get sard's from japan. with the added fuel now we could increase boost pressure to 22psi. again we made 40 rwhp per pound except on the last pound were gains halfed.

this is where the addional horsepower came from. the NOS is used soley for the purpose of getting the car on stall. which is commen in the drag racing scene where big convertors are used on small capacity engines.

ANDRA sport compact rules state that in my class of SPORT RWD/AWD i can in fact use NOS and as much as i like. i am contemplating changing the setup and using the NOS the full lenght of the track. this should help drop times to low tens.

SKIP- yes i believe trying to squeeze this power through a 60mm hole is a definate restirction. i may look at HARDCORE RACING's stage one head in the near future, with a 7 litre plenum as well.

thanks for all you well wishes guys, i appreciate it. again if anyone has more questions i am more than happy to answer via PM.

i wired in my lock up clutch yesterday and put it on the rollers, very happy 468rwhp gained 20 rwhp utilising the lock up clutch.

my box has done 50 1/4 mile passes and now 70 dyno runs at full noise and i have had no problems, i sent it down for a check up last month and mike said it was all tip top.

wont ever do internals champ, stock engines are too cheap. and mine has 190000 k's on it. so they are tough things.

as long as i end up in the finals i will be happy mate. my goal is too be in a position to win the sport compact championship in my class. consistancy is what will win it not out right ET's

if the car goes faster than it did in sydney then i will be even more happy.
