Hey Modders,

Just wondering what kind of power increase you can get with a a full exhaust system, extractors, hiflow cat, 2inch throughout with a 3inch cannon?

Keep in mind this is an unmodified 4agze engine...

so just wanting to know how much power increase you could pull from it?

The 3 inch cannon will gain atleast 50kw!


But seriously, you should go for a full 2.5 inch system, and no 3 inch cannon. Get yourself a nice lukey or simliar good quality muffler. You still wont notice any difference apart from sound.

Yeah, i know!

I was told 2.5inch throughout would be way to big for such a small engine but?

50kw? I was thinking more around 20kw? Is 50kw possible on a stock engine?

get a new pulley to run highe rboost, is what i meant.

and there is no way youll get 20kw from exhasut mods on a 1.6

unles the origninal exhasut was a straw, which it isnt.

Yeah, coming from driving a big car, thinking about it now getting 20kw out of a 1.6 is asking ALOT.

agreed 2" is pissy if you want power atleast 2.5 basicially as far as power goes with the gze bigger is better but too big = tooooo loud so make sure you have a good sized muffler otherwise your ears will be ringin on the freeway

yea i jot a 2'5 inch system on my gze and its bloody loud but then again all i have is a hot dog and a rear sports muffler i noticed a fair bit of difference with the bigger system

I did an exhaust for my mates AE82 with a ZE. It already had extractors and a press bent 2 1/4" system with the standard cat and pipe from extractors to cat. It went pretty good but was strangled up top. I replaced it with a 2.5" mandrel system and the difference it made was amazing!!!! It had the overdrive crank pulley and a front mount. The exhuast unlocked the hidden hp!!! It used to really labour from about 4k up. Now not only did it pick up down low but it absoltely screams up top. One down side is the noise. It is real loud. I'm going to be replacing the center res with a Magnaflow resinator but it's still going to be loud when it's revved.
