2T on unleaded Fri, 26 August 2005 15:15 Go to next message
mate desires to know what if anything has to be doen to the 2T for it to run on regular unleaded
hes heard all typs of stuff such as
reducing carby jets
advancing timing
dont worry as its got an alloy head
change the valves etc to suit a fuel that doesnt lubricate like leaded did with the lead
use an additive
thanks for any assistance

same as every other toyota motor since the 60's with alloy head and hardened valve seats..

wind the timing back 20 deg Razz

seriously tho, jets should be fine, and timing should go back a bit until it doesn't ping anymore..

since he's running it on ULP, it's obviously not a performance motor?

all he needs to do is retard the timing a bit if it pings ?

pretty much....
basically you just have to "de-tune" the motor to Holden specs Razz

there may be a slight difference in energy content between leaded and unleaded, but thats different from what the engines were designed for anyway.. and if it's carby the mixtures are all over the shop anyway Wink.. relatively...

1) Fill tank with ULP
2) Drive it
3) save money
