okie dokie, heres an annoying fault that im hoping you gurus can help me out with:
when the weather is pretty wet or raining, and the car is DEAD cold (ie hasn't been driven that day). the engine surges while holding the accelerator steady, and between gears it feels like the clutch is slipping.
However....
it only EVER does it when the engine reaches operating temperature. it doesn't do it while warming up and driving around. it will do it for 5 or 10 minutes, then stop. it also will stop if you turn the car off and leave it for a few minutes.
it never does it in the dry, and if you drive the car in the morning, for example, and then it pisses down rain in the arvo, it won't surge.
its kinda odd, and im thinking, its obviously water related, and to do with the cold start injector or whatever systems control cold idle speed and the warming up process.
any ideas? (stock 7mgte in ma61)
thanks guys.

allan: nah, its just cruising, and when i shift gears. if i boot it, its fine... its weird and annoying.
chuckster: ill try that, thanks mate.
ive also been told that it could be water on the AFM, getting in through the pod. im going to try covering the pod filter with a potplant or something and see....
but for the minute im taking advantage of the nice sunny weather
