icon5.gif  where to get h/d clutch kit?? Tue, 16 August 2005 01:32 Go to next message
im back again needing some help.

i have taken my clutch into brakes west and aparrently they need to get one in from the eastern states (im in wa).

i was wondering if anyone can recomend any workshops that could supply me with a clutch kit to suit (3T-GTE, T50 box).

i was thinking maybe 9 pad ceramic sprung centre??

also how heavy a pressure plate is good?

any price estimates would be helpful too.

cheers guys.

lewy.

Them or the Clutch Factory in Kewdale, they're the ones who hooked me up with my clutch.

Go and see Rosco at auto clutch. A new ceramic friction plate should be around $120-150, and he will probably be able to increase the clamp load on your clutch cover cheaply. Sometimes friction plates can be remanufactured by riveting new ceramic pads on to replace the worn organic lining. He needs to see it before he can tell you though!

thanks 1ndecent

i got my clutch, flywheel and pressure plate back off brakes west (they machined the flywheel for $44)

took it all up to autoclutch and the bloke looks at it and said it would be better with a full face clutch plate and a 2000 pound pressure plate.

it cost $176 for clutch plate, thrust bearing and pressure plate modification.

brakes west said $385 for a similar deal!!!

so all up $220 worth of parts. im happy now.

i recommend autoclutch in osbourne park. he knows what he's doing!!

cheers.
