4AGE knock sensors Fri, 02 September 2005 23:02 Go to next message
hey all,
I just wanted to ask whether all 4AGE's have the same knock sensor? Because i have a small port 4AGZE with broken sensor and i was wondering is 20v ones are the same? Thanks in advance

perhaps this is the reason why i had such horrendous knock control (retarding ignition timing) issues with my turbo smallport 4age using the 4agze AE92 ecu + emanage....

oops Razz

So taking this into consideration....I am building my turbo 4a from a 100kw block and ancilliaries, with aftermarket management...Will i need to be using a ZE knock sensor?

Cheers,

Jeremy

if using a full aftermarket ecu, then it wont matter.
just as long as it works with the ecu.
youll ahve to set your own knock controls

most aftermarket ECUs dont actually use knock control nor knock sensor inputs.

WHY? Because a good tuner should be able to tune your car to NOT knock at all Smiley =
