13.6 @ 103mph at AIR

it was my first time down the strip and I got a 13.7 with a 1.2 second reaction time so with a bit of practice and some better rubber I should be able to crack the 12's Smile

See what you can do Ryley? With a good engine management system and a little boost, you'd be able to run low 13s.

Very Happy

did klaus do that run with new engine management, or just upping the boost?

my car only runs 5psi, so 10psi should be a blast Very Happy

He's put in an engine management system and with that I'm assuming that boost has gone up too. Not 100% on that, but I can't wait till I have spare cash lying around.

The WSID facility is a full international standard drag strip, built to current NHRA specifications. The braking are is 600 metres of asphalt, with a 120 metre gravel trap and catch net at the end. The track is 70 metres above sea level at the start line and approximately 66 metres at the finish line.

I actually asked one of the track executives this very question on Sunday. His reply confirms that this is correct and that it is DOWNHILL from start to finish and is in the order of 12ft decline. He also pointed out that 1% is the maximum deviation from level that is allowed on an NHRA/IHRA track.

So I admit I was completely wrong about the rate of decline at the new track.

I apologise for filling this thread with mis-information (no information) and I will take this lesson and TRY to learn to keep my keyboard shut until I get an idea in future.

Happy racing Smile

1JZ Cressida, 15PSI, stock intercooler, twin dumps etc, 183rwkw.

Ran it myself last night and got 13.95 @ 103MPH, with a crappy 2.35 sec 60 foot. If I can get that down to 2 sec then I'll be in the low 13s.

New cooler is next on the shopping list!

I noticed earlier that someone was asking about comparisons between 1/4 times and 0-100 times. A while ago I put together a few graphs comparing these and other figures for different cars. All the data was taken from this years Wheels car of the year performance tests so should be fairly accurate.

If anyone can hoast some pics for me (I don't have any web space anymore) then I am happy to share them. That way if you know the weight and power (engine power not wheel power) you could estimate the times and vice verca you could estimate your power given weight and performance or estimate your 1/4 time given your 0-100 time etc.

Oh and It made for some interesting comparisons for fwd/rwd/awd times and power loadings.

Let me know if anyone wants to hoast images of the plots or alternatively the Excel file.

Incedently my RA28 did a 13.7 with a 1G-GTE, 16psi, street tyres and open diff. I don't have a 0-100 time but my excel plot says it should be around 5.5 seconds. Having said that, it suffered from a lot of wheel spin so that time would probably be more like 5.7 I guess.
