You should be able to get yourself a very nice Celica for $5K. Don't forget the TA23's either!(best in my opinion)

I can't really give you a mechanical answer to that question, as my knowledge of varying Gen 1 Celica's is limited. But the TA23 has the bonet bulge & vents, which just looks dead sexy Smile I dunno the 2T-GEU strapped up to a T50 in a nice looking TA23 was a fun first car to own, I guess I'm a little biased. Cool

Also it has one of the larger engine bay areas out of the Gen 1 Celicas, although as you stated I think you'll find the RA23 is a similar if not identical size.

I have a TA22 that belonged to my grandmother that I wish to sell. It is a genuine 1 owner with 110 000 miles on the clock. It it in excellent condition with no structual rust or accident damage. It has widened original steel wheels with good tyres. The motor has been serviced regularly. The interior is is good condition. The dash pad has 1 crack in it but the seats are good. The carpet needs replacing because the front screen leaks. The rubber is hard & starting to shrink. The rego is due next month but I will put 12 months on it. It was changed from 5 speed to auto about 5 years ago when my grandmother had a hip operation and couldn't use the clutch. The 5 speed has gone but I still have the manual console. I drove the car every day for about 3 months before I bought my ute so it is very reliable. If you are interested let me know.
