I have seen a number of pictures of 20 valves in Japan (AE86 drift cars) with a coil on plug conversion. Does anyone know what engine I get the coils off that would be a close fit? I know 1JZ coils go on a 16v if you make a holder, but with the 20v you need the right length tube.
I am talking about ignition coils, on spark plugs. And I think I would have to order a MicroTech ready for direct fire coils.
Or, I may try twin coils from a 3RZ-FE.
Maybe I will take a 20v plug lead into work and see if it fits a 1ZZ-FE or 1AZ-FE and match it up like that. ???
u can use 4AGZE coils. if your running a microtech u can buy the ones that they have, im using a microtech and ill be using GZE coils but thats casue i got them with the motor. i have no idea how much they cost or compare to the new units from microtech.

I think he means like the CA18/SR20/RB20/25/26 coils on boots right? I heard splitfire in Japan (ONLY) do single coils to suit 20v... i've also heard that SR20DET ones fit with a bit of trimming
