yo guys i got a 4agze 2 1/2 inch exhaust ,1 hot dog resonator , small cat and a big arse autotentica cannon that sounds so f%$king loud its not funny , i want this car to sound as quite as possible but beast when i give it. What setup would be good to reduce the noise from 100db to 40db but not loosing power.

1. Remove crappy ricer cannon
2. Weld in lukey oval muffler
3. ???
4. Profit
5. Be touched by his noodly appendage.

oh, and 40db on a GZE with 2.5" exhaust? funny 80 is a much more realistic target.

my post will be useless, but ive got a 7mgte with full 3" and dumppipe, hiflow cat and one gigantic muffler at the end.
very quiet at idle, but a nice deep rumble, but when i give it a bit you can really hear it...
so maybe, um... get a massive ugly muffler?

When I bought my car it had a 2 1/2" exhaust and one of those Autotechnica cannons. It was seriously loud, which wound up getting me defected. I added in a resonator, but it didn't do much, so I went to a Lukey Turbo. Nice note, not too much attention.
Word of warning though, it took away a fair bit of the performance in the higher revs (the only place 4cyl's make power...) but did improve responsiveness down low.

you obviously don't know how loud normal conversation is.. but i appreciate your intentions
2.5" is a good size for the exhaust.
what you need are good quality, gound sound absorbig mufflers etc.. that doesn't mean expensive.
i would recommend that you use 2 GOOD resonators.. ie stamped holes, and not louvred. put one near the end of the tuned length section of the engine pipe/collector... then another just before the diff (under rear seats).
then get a large cahmbered reverse flow muffler.. usually the biger the chambers, the lss restrictive it is inside and the grater the capacity of sound absorbtion... and will lower the pitch, without sounding like a wanker with a cannon.... of course this is a massive generalisation and many cheap mufflers are crap...
anyways.. i think ESA (exhaust systems australia) make cheap mufflers ($50 for 2") and resonators ($25 for 2") and worked very well on my 4K. i think it would work well on a GZE that doesn't rev as high...
alternatively, speak to a good exhaust shop (ie one that knows their shit, and aren't just out to sell you something wanky... i recommend australias best mufler and tyre service), and ask them to recommend something good, not just cheap of bling....
