AW11 JDM S/C Targa (hypothetical) Thu, 08 September 2005 08:15 Go to next message
Hello All,

Just a quick hypothetical. The Rex may consider purchasing the following car, you must help him decide on its dealiness, thus what such a vehicle might be worth.

JDM AW11 MR2 S/C 1987

Upfalls:
Complied reg'd
4AGZE as Standard
Red
Targa-top
LSD (seems quite tight?)
15x6.5 wheels (attractive not awesome)
Great interior (black)
Momo Wheel
Lonza 'wanker' pedals
New Clutch

Downfalls:
Only real downfall is that although the body is dead-straight the paint on some panels 'little' faded, others are perfect but it still polishes up well. Its only really noticable within 10m though.

Have had to opportunity to test-drive the bastard and that is why The Rex is seriously considering the thing, Its fast, corners like a house fly and passed a roadworthy inspection with flying colours.

What you reckon such a car might be worth.

Perhaps $7500?

It will be kept for about 6 months so He has the opportunity to get some MR2 into his life. Its posted here because a few of you might be able to assist having bought/owned and sold them.

Any help would be excellent.

Rex

Thats low compared to what a lot of those motors get on them ie. 200-300,000ks. Id call it very reasonable mileage.

Sorry to butt in Mr. Kelway, but what are these like inside space wise? Would a 6 foot tall bloke fit in without too much hassle?

I'm 6'4". I fit... just. I can drive the auto no problems. But if its a manual, then I've gotta have a smaller aftermarket steering wheel, because with the stock steering wheel, my knee hits the wheel when using the clutch. And it makes things quite awkward. Confused
