i believe st162 SX had a 5x100 offset on the top of my head, rim size can be as large as 18", but i wouldn't recommend it as 17" are bad enough for me.

Hell no! You won't get the wheel studs through the holes. Check your offset too (search these forums, or the stamping on your rims).

You'll have to check your inside clearance to the struts for backspacing (how low you can go on offset) and your clearance to the guards (how high) . . . . but I expect that's all been covered in detail many times over ! Very Happy

It may..but i don't think you will have much thread for the bolts to go on, therefore leaving it very dangerous and the wheels more the likely to come off while driving

The stud pattern on an ST162 is 5x100, meaning 5 studs spaced equally on a circle of diameter 100mm. A rim with a 5x114.3 hole pattern will not fit, period.

The standard offset for the ST162 is +39mm. (You can find this cast into the wheel under the centre cap, if you still have the original rims.) Check the diagram below for an explanation of offset:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v636/macca_1972/offset.gif

In addition to moving the rim inwards (when the offset is increased) or outwards (when decreased), changing the offset will also change the track width, ie the distance between the rim centrelines measured across the car. Changing the track width may be illegal for you so it would be wise to check. For instance in QLD you can increase the track width up to 26mm (ie 13mm per side) but not decrease it.

Hope that helps.

Matt

WAY too many. I can just about type that reply now with my eyes closed Laughing

But since there was some pretty bad misinformation earlier in the thread I figured I had better clear it up before someone tried to fit 5x114.3 rims to a Celica. And sometimes trying to dig up and old thread and post a link can take more time than typing a response.....either that or my search skills need some work. Confused

Matt
