Thanks mateys Very Happy I thought people from downunder would have seen a few of these. can you imagine how new yorkers reacted when I drive it in for autox events Evil or Very Mad It has been great owning this 150HP street car, its been winning a lot of smiles hehe - and races eventhough the car has been weighed down (1920 lbs) to meet the StreetModified2 class. but the course designs these days are getting faster and I want to stay NA so a new toyota powerplant i hope is in the near future. the overall design has been inspired by many pictures and people from the NZ toyota and club4AG but most of all its been a dream come true since i drool over starlets since I was a teenager in the Philippines. but generally, its the product of my boredom and frustration Confused BTW, most of the work has been done on the street/treeshades of newark NJ Wink
one real funny thing about owning this car is street-racing ... I dont need to do it anymore. A while ago when I owned a suped up AWD/turbo people always provoke me to race them on the freeways but these days they just drive along and give me the thumbs up thinking the starlet MUST have a crazy engine. hehe thats a good thing because its really not very fast especially on 16" wheels and about 300lbs of racing gear - and oh the aerodynamics! anyway, here are some results from recent races

see the lists at the bottom for fastest times
http://www.autox4u.com/2005results/932005nnjr.htm
http://www.nyr-scca.com/soloresults090405.htm

i had a few fastest times but cant find the webpages anymore. here are other good runs in the past

well, have good day folks!

if australia got the KP61, why would anyone bother with a spoontah?? the KP61 is just soo much better Very Happy

what is it with "highway racing" that goes on in the US? seems a bit weird really..

do you have the injectors inside the carb bodies? or in the original 4AG position?
what are you doing for timing? MSnS? MSnEDIS?? more info on MS install please Very Happy
what is idle kpa with the 272's??

oh yeah.. car looks awesome, esp the matt black Very Happy

hi.

street racing? well it just happens. sometimes a direct gesture/signal and response. sometime its neck to neck cruizing getting faster and faster. ya know things guys do Very Happy I dont do that anymore (i wonder why)

my MS isnt tuned yet. I'll be starting over with AlphaN soon - well not soon really. Its really not fun datalogging and tuning especially since i have a strong working carb system. I switch from carb to EFI modes whenever i get the chance which isnt too often since I dont have much time. below are some pics
my first surge tank/EFI fuel pump

TPS on the weber
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y84/idmorfe1/278625669KlYaQm_ph.jpg

homemade fuelrail (i cant find the ones with the cover off)
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y84/idmorfe1/274806953xfARPT_ph.jpg

with 272s its about 11in@1200rpm and about 15in@1800rpm (when i race)

Ed

Hi,
I think the power and 13" wheels is just right for its weight. at 1900lbs there will be many AE86s lighter than it with even more power. 13" wheels will keep you at the sweet spot of the rpm band all the way to the redline (loud!). It is a handful in the wet though - one time I actually ended up last place in a wet pro event against modern cars with traction control
I wanted to race with wider tires but overall diameter and weight comes with that so i would need more torque to compensate. its going to be a busy winter project for me, that is if i source all the parts for the conversion, maybe another roller car too
