Last week I bit the bullet and bought a set of new wheels ant tyres for the monstrosity.

Although I want to use the BFG radials at the strip, I also want to use full slicks. Consequently, I settled on a set of hoosier 28X9 inch slicks as they are the biggest I can fit under the crown without wheel arch mods. I also bought Hoosier front-runners to go with them. I also picked up my first ever set of mags-Weld Pro-Stars in 15x3.5 and 15x8.

I've also picked up a full set of ARP long wheel studs as I'm working to getting the car up to full ANDRA 10.99 and under regs (I'm also reading up on the 9.99 and under ones....)

In this last picture I've got a Hoosier, a BFG and the simply AWESOME Simex ST35 225/70 light truck tyre(11.21@130) side-by-side. Bang for buck the Simex is way in front at $90 each. The BFG's are more than triple that....It's all fun though. =-)

Nice Sean Smile

I also use Simex's and although I am not making anywhere near the power of Sean's car I haven't lost traction at all except for a tiny bit 1st to 2nd and that was at regular 32psi pressure.

Quite a few people are using them now actually Smile

Probably not as good as those Hoosier's though Razz

Hey, I'm about to get 15" slicks too, Just wondering whether you reacon the 28x9 will fit under an ra23? Clearly they fit under the crown, but I have a sneaking suspicion that I might need to get 28x8 or maybe even 26x8 ? Or am I calling the story WAY to small?

Good question.

Don't suppose anyone has fitted slicks to an xt130 before? Smile
