i wonder just how much driving skill you need to root a clutch like that... and how much noise did it generate?!

Service Report
item: TE V6 magna
notes: owner says it has a bit of noise when taking off at lights
mechanic: clutch & pressure plate completely rooted ... totally fucked.

the owner said he was tryring to take off quickly with 5 people in the car. i asked if he revved it and dumped it he said no. the car nudged forward and stoped, didnt go anywhere. you could put it in any gear and rev it and it wouldnt move. customer then insinuated we had done a poor job of installing the clutch a couple of months eariler Smile when a car has a couple of kilos of melted rubber in the front arches to tend to ignore any request for warranty. hahhahahahahahahahaahaha gold. One of the guys that dropped out in year ten at my school blew the gearbox in his parents magna doing hectic skidz and stuff. Think it was an auto though, they'd have it in neutral foot flat to the floor then smack it into first/low Evil or Very Mad

i have seen a magna with a cracked clutch once, was a TE also

gen 3 magnas NEVER kill the clutches, he must've been doing massive skids

we had a guy come to work one day with no 1st gear in his suzuki baleno, he had smashed the gear, he wanted warranty, he said he hadnt been doign skids, the rubber in the wheel arch said otherwise

we gave him warranty anyway.

i saw the car at a car show 6 months later, his spec board said "strengthened gear box"

i laughed my ass off Laughing

When I bought my AW11 race car, I found it in a paddock. With a hole in the gearbox.

When I pulled it off, the clutch looked like that (wafer thin) and the flywheel was cracked in THREE (3) places!! Laughing

Have no idea HOW, and somehow think I'd rather not know!
