Auto to Manual Conversion - 4AGE Mon, 19 September 2005 13:15 Go to next message
Hey,

I just want to get some advise and feedback on what people think about a auto to manaul conversion.

I am thinking of getting an AE82 with an EE80 and converting it to a 4AGE. The only problem is its auto. With a new engine will the manual conversion be alot easier? What are the common problems, if any (major and minor).

Thanks,

Just get all the right parts and it shouldn't be very hard at all. Pedal box, center console, shifter cables and assembly. Not sure what the deal is with putting a master cylinder on these, but I'm sure someone else can shed some light.

Excuse my ignorance but what's an EE80?

Hey,

Don't worry I haven't heard about them until I saw one. Basically it's a similar engine to the 4A but carb and only 12v. Apparantly its the same engine used in a starlet life.

Correct me if I'm wrong, its something that I have been told.

most manual conversions everything will bolt into place but on most occasions you will have to drill a hole for the clutch master cylinder which isnt a real drama.
