No headlights, can you drive during the day?

I'm doing some work to my headlights and wanted to know if it is legal to drive the car during sunlight hours only. Do I run the risk of getting defected?
Thanks.

considering they test ur headlights when they do a roadworthy/blue/pink slip and anything on a registered car that would cause it to fail one of these certificates is considered a defect...id say u'd get 3 blocks before ur driving home with a defect notice and a points loss

If the cops pull you over
Take some photos of your head-lights, print them a4 and stick them onto the front of your car .
I think DV is right in suggesting you might get defected. Maybe call up your local road and traffic authority?

Legally you need to have functioning headlights at all times or a defect can be issued. Saying "I am only driving during the day" doesn't cut it as you may experience inclement weather during the drive and need the headlights for safety.
