I'll have to check this tonight, but from memory it has a lot of detail on the 4A-GE and a bit on some of the lesser variants (4A-C perhaps?). I'm sure it has nothing on the GZE though.

Engine information is in chapter 2. It's split into Part A: Engines and Part B: General engine overhaul procedures.

Engines in the book are:
SOHC: 2A-C and 4A-C;
DOHC: 4A-F, 4A-FE, 4A-GE and 6A-F.

It's hard to say. I could attempt to count them but I don't think it would be useful information.

The chapters on engines deal with all of them at once. Where there are significant differences, diagrams and explanations are provided for each type of engine. For example, there are four diagrams for upper engine components - one for 2A-C and 4A-C, one for 6A-F and 4A-F, one for 4A-FE and finally one for 4A-GE. It goes on in that fashion.

If you would like to have a look through the manual to help you decide, perhaps we can work something out? The October ToyMods meeting is a possibility although almost a whole month away.
