Draven's JZA61 [some pics] Thu, 22 September 2005 10:36 Go to next message
this is just a rough draft, so no complaints.

Once upon a time, nigh on 2 years ago, there was a boy named Greg. He has a 1jz-gte ma61, and it was good. Not great, but good enough to make his nuts shrink up when the hit the loud pedal. One foul thursday night on the infamous Old Pacific Hwy, outside Pie in the Sky, Greg blew a tyre going round a corner at what many would consider "excessive" speed, and this happened:

And he was sad. To make him happy, a fellow enthusiast "Ray" sold him an ma61 shell for $700. By "shell", it is meant that there was a chassis, electricals, axles, a tailshaft and some panels. Fortunately, Ray and Greg were able to strip his old car, leaving it looking like a theft recovery:

Very cool. Once I have Josh's 7M safely stowed in my engine bay I might have to get a little more detail about this mob in castle hill from you Very Happy

right near castle hill exhausts, who also do great work (even though they accidentally welded a hole in my radiator, patched it up and didn't tell me), and MRC (performance workshop) - so you can tell where my car spends all it's spare time Smile

looking pretty tough! love the dish on the rear mate.

the best part is (other than the one-jay-zed Evil or Very Mad), you've paid attention to the interior... where you spend the most time!

so many people these days just will spend all the money on the outside and wheels and the engine for performance etc... but you've got quite a stylin' interior there! Smile

Props to you! Smile

also notice the list of suspension & brake mods Smile

this is a drivers car. it goes fast, stops well, corners well, and looks, feels and sounds great from where it counts (the drivers seat).

The outside is a secondary consideration.

+18 front, +0 rear.
But note that the skyline brake upgrade increases my front offset by +8, so for a normal ma61 your ideal offsets are +10, +0 (for 8" and 9" wide wheels)

Shoddy mk2's ?? naahh - every mk2 is a piece of art in their own way... and if not, they deserve new owners.. people like Draven who treat mk2's with rzpekt!
