replacing wheel studs. please help Thu, 22 September 2005 09:50 Go to next message
ok i know this is a toyota forum but as my celica is off the road i've been using an 86 excell as a run about car... now to my problem

driving along tonight i've snapped 2 of the wheel studs on the front left hand side of the car.

just wondering if anyone can give any advice on how i should go about fixing this problem. how do i go about replacing the studs. or do i have to get a whole new wheel assembly?

any advice would be greatly appreciated

Should be easy enough to do.I'm guessing they are like any other front drive with the disc sitting over the wheel studs.
Just remove the caliper and disc then use a hammer to knock the old ones out and pull the new ones in with a wheel nut with some washers under it and tighten.
Or you could get a secondhand hub from the wreckers and replace the whole unit.
