how would u tell the difference between the two if u just have the diffs and not the cars??

ive got a diff from a TA22 but im not sure if its a T or a D.

help would be great.

You will have to unbolt it and measure the diameter of the crown wheel.....6.7 inch is a T series, about 6.3 inch is a D series, if memory serves me correctly.

it also says 28 on the front of the diff. with 10 nuts.

28 'might' refer to the final drive ratio, but unless there is a T or a D stamped somewhere on the outside casing, it does not help you tell what size diff you have, the best way (other than knowing the build plate of the car that the diff originally was fitted too, is to unbolt the sucker and measure the diameter of the crown wheel.
I don't think too many D series diffs came to OZ, they were mainly in 1970 to 1971 TA22's so its likely that you have a T series, but you can't be sure until you measure.
