1989 Chaser Vs. 1989 Soarer

Guys, im in a delemma, i love my MZ and GZ soarers , but recently i went to a car yard and saw a 1989 Chaser for the same price i was looking at paying for a soarer
Now my only beef was that the fatty chaser has 4 doors. but looks sexy like a mix of Cressida and Soarer which is ok.
i poped the hood and saw something sad , a 1ggeu
so this fatty chaser is getting pushed by a 6cyl non-turbo. which means if i buy it ill be looking at spending a hefty $2 - 4 k on a 1jz conversion.
The car on the otherhand was immac , new tyres + rims , 17" somethings, has a small spoiler on the rear and leather seats , sunroof and all the options.
but with 4 doors , that bitch is heavy,
so guys i wanna know a few things
1. How rare are chasers in Aust, or Perth
2. How easy does the 1JZ go into a chaser
3. am i right on the cost of a 1JZ install ?
4. what parts is the chaser changeable with ? ie. Cressida/Soarer ?
thats about it for now , all responses much loved.
-cheers
John

there are not to many jap import chasers/crestas/mark IIs in perth or even aus
most of them r shitter desiels or 1ggue or gtes
very few jzx81s with 1jzs from factory
the easiest conversion would be to use a chaser/jzx81 front cu, manual ones being very hard to source and will be near on 4k or more for the cut alone, add labour and consumables, new exhuast and shit like that ur looking at well over 6k for the conversion.
i beleive the frotn lights and tail r different from cressida, dorr r different if its the pillarless models, drive line and sus parts should all be interchangable.
there r a few soarer on yahoo.jp if ur intrested in importing
will be much cheaper then sourcing locally, only downside is u usually have to wait significant amounts of time for it to arrive

John, where did you you find that?
i wanna have a look-see, but im too povo to buy it
I havent seen many chasers around, an the only thing i can sort of liken them to are the MKII's which i only know of 3 in perth...
Its a rare car, and a 1JZ conversion would make it very unique and very sexy

hehe
well ive been scoping the yards in my area
there is one on Oxford St in Leederville with all brand new soarer/supra/skyrines
then down the road a bit more (Oxford) there is another with a 1988 Crown (fucking MINNNNNTTTTT condition) and a Chaser 1989 also fucking mint creme leather and all options, $6k
mattAE86 and i are going to test drive tomorrow
but that shitty 1ggeu or whatever it is in it , is fuckin shockin i bet.
i reckon $3k for the 1JZ front cut and more for install which would make the car fucking ORSM , but i dont have another $3k for a cut. so hrmmm ,,
there is a couple of Soarers from over east on Autotrader
TOYOTA SOARER 1987 auto, air, ps, new tyres, EC, reg QYF319 $3500 (0433)335158, Kilsyth.
Toyota Soarer twin turbo 1988 white, air, power windows, turbo timer, alarm, CD, power sunroof, body kit, XAX-465, $4999 negotiable ADELAIDE 0401-88 4803.
and another chaser
Toyota Chaser 1990, white, auto 188000kms, supercharged, very reliable sedan, rego 7/2006, AML-O1A, all pwr opts, good cond, $3000 ono NORTH MANLY 0433-33 0161.
just dunno what to choose , so many options

1GGEU isnt a monstrosity of an engine man, its a decent toyota engine, reliable, revs high, and relativly fuel efficient because of its small capacity,.
Ive heard of $3500 for a full manual JZ supra cut.

What's wrong with 4 doors
Pimp it out with some nicely dished rims, tight suspension and a wickid 1jz, you'll be king of the streets
Plus, not to mention all the fully sick cars you'll be putting to shame as you haul ass with a car load of passengers

I highly doubt the Chaser weighs any more than the Soarer dude.
Would be less than 50kg in it.
