What 5speed can i put behide my corona

hey i just new to this wanna change my corona 1978 into manual but a 5speed wat 5speed would be good and cheap to get and put behide and wat would i have to do about connection its there ne that would just bolt up please help guys cause i want to have this done when i get my license

does it have an r series enginwe if yes then get the 5 speed box out of a later RT142

year it stock as still got 18RC and AUto behide it and wat would i have to do to connect it like is it a big job ?? wat prices we lookin at aswell bro ??

a 5speed from an RA23/40 celica that also came with an 18R - also some corona's came with these.
get a bellhousing, clutch pedal, clutch master & slave, hard & soft clutch lines, gearbox transmission crossmember.
also a tailshaft to suit your car and this box.
all of this would be available at your local wrecker - requires 9/10/12/14/17 mm sockets & spanners.
but i'd suggest learning to drive before doing all this.

Um i don't know why you'd be putting an R154 behind an 18rc, they are hardly a powerhouse the W55 (i think that the one in the later corona's is more than adequate).

That or retreads in the wet, brutal clutch release and hitting 7krpm in between the change (holding accelerator down and clutch), but since no one would be stupid enoug to do all of the above i call bullshit.

he got it for a 1JZ conversion hes currently working towards. I saw the recepit with my own eyes, and as for the cirps 3rd.. it was on 185's..

Don't listen to those guys.
I have heard the best box for an 18rc is the v160. Comes out of TT supras and bolts straight up. Should be able to pick one up for a couple of cartons. Plus you will only need a 14mm spanner to hook it all up. Go for it mate and let us know how it goes!

You can put any 5 speed you like behind your Corona. Just make sure you move it out of the way before backing down your driveway. Otherwise you will damage your rear bumper.

True but he's gonna make a dick of himself when he goes to an import yard and asks for a V160 and says it's going into a corona with an 18rc.
