Ford KC Laser '86

1.6 single carb
auto
mint condition
no rust
no rego

runs but blows smoke, it needs a valve stem seal job and a valve grind

Here is the story of the laser.

i bought this car off a friend in non working condition and got it going, (turned out to be an elusive fuel problem).

after a few weeks i decided to try and get it registered however there was some smoke initially on acceleration, it was noted that sustained acceleration or high revs produced no smoke.

the valve seals have been changed (bout a month ago now) and now it blows smoke all the time, heaps of smoke

i believe that the stem seals are sticking on the valve stems, and/or the valves are not sitting right in the cylinder due to their change in orientation and a build up of deposits.

a compression test shows 120 psi on all cylinders, (100 is the min limit, and 140 is the max)

i dont think that it would be too hard to fix the engine, it needs a valve stem seal job and a valve grind,

pm me if your interested, car is located in the sutherland shire, however i can arrange some vehicle transport for quite cheap if your not too far away

cheers
Joe.
