Ok very very sorry for such a crappy noob question and yes I have searched..Im trying to put in a clarion DRB3375 head deck into my missus 73 and its got me stuffed,
Unfortunately I didnt get the car with a stereo already in it,all it has is a yellow wire with a fuse holder on it and a red wire with another smaller plastic thing and a wire for the arial.I have a sneeky suspicion that those wires arent enough to run a stereo.
Now the old clarion cd player has the following.
Yellow wire with fuse
Blue wire with fuse holder(no fuse)
red
black
2 green
2 purple
2 white(one with black stripe)
2 grey(one with black stripe)
Any help greatly appreciated, and yes I am a bit slow!!

Best thing to do is to run a brand spanking new +12v from the battery, or optionally from the ignition barrell depending on which way inclined you are.
Then all you'll need is the ACC wire, which by memory is a blue with a white stripe, or something similar. Check it with a multimeter or test light to see if it comes on when the ignition is turned to ACC.
Ground it to a clean point on the chasis and since it has no stereo currently run your new speaker wire. Unless you want to use the speaker mounted up under the dash

Out of those
Yellow = +12v constant
Blue = remote/power antenna (likey not needed, usually have a bullet type connector on them)
Red = ACC
black = ground
Green = Rear Left +
Green/black = Rear Left -
Violet = Rear right +
Violet/black = Rear right -
White = Front left +
White/black = Front left -
Gray = Front right +
Gray/black = Front right -
