KE70/AE71 tachometer with 4A-GE Thu, 13 October 2005 04:12 Go to next message
Hey peeps,
I remember a thread a few days ago mentioning that the tacho in an AE86 had to be modified to run with a 4agze. Just wondering whether the tacho in my KE70 (An AE71 tacho) would need to be modified for a 4AGE??

Thanks peeps,
Kev.

lol np. I think (not really 4A-GE familiar) that at least one version of 4A-GZE uses a CAS and coil packs, which could have led to the tacho problem you describe.

Bring the dash and leave it with me for 1/2 hour or so and it will work with coil pack ignition and propply no jumping up and down like some of the coverters I have seen.

All you need for this is a blank for the alternator and then to hook up some coil packs. pretty sure that everyone uses GZE coil packs Smile Then take to Matt and he will make work for you Very Happy

I modded my tacho to suit my 4agze using this guide : http://www.rollamods.com/tech/ae86gzetacho.pdf
It took 3 components worth less than 1$ and about 5 mins to do.

Works fine
